When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, CSIRO scientists responsible for researching dung beetles became concerned

"Being bothered by bush flies is almost a rite of passage in an Australian summer.

But have you ever spared a thought for where we'd be without the humble dung beetle, whose job it is to shoo those flies away?

For decades, dung beetles have been imported to Australia from countries with a long tradition of farmed livestock."
