Patrick Gleeson

Patrick is an essential member of the CSIRO dung beetle team, as he leads the technical side of the importation of new dung beetle species in Australia. Patrick joined CSIRO as a callow Research Technician in 1990 and has been involved in several dung beetle importation projects since; 1990-1992 based at AAHL in Geelong under Dr Keith Wardhaugh, 2012-2015 under Dr Jane Wright and 2017 to present under Dr Valerie Caron. He has tons of experience in quarantine protocols and dung beetle rearing methodologies. Patrick during his near 30 year career with CSIRO has worked with both beneficial and pest insects most notably termites. Patrick has an Associate Diploma of Laboratory Technology from the Gordon Technical College Geelong, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Ecology and Environmental Science from the University of Canberra.
