Youness is a PhD student at the Université Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, Faculté des Sciences dhar el Mehraz, Fez, under the supervision of Prof. Abdellatif Janati-Idrissi. Prior to her PhD, Youness had completed a Master in ecology and conservation for sustainable development. His thesis focusses on sand flies that are vectors of canine leishmaniasis in Morocco. He also plays a key role in the dung beetle project by helping with field collection and identification of dung beetle species.
