Dr Caron is an entomologist who has worked extensively in biological control of insects and weeds. She has experience with many groups of insects and other invertebrates. She has expertise in ecology, plant-insect interactions, invasion biology, integrated pest management and population genetics. At CSIRO, she leads the Invertebrate Management team. Valerie is the leader of Theme 7: Importation of new dung beetle species. She manages the technical staff in Black Mountain, Canberra and at the CSIRO European Laboratory, Montpellier, France
